A good friend recently remarked that 2002 represents a particularly potent year of feminine divinity. Interestingly, she told me, the year 2000 was the first all-feminine numbered year since 888 -- over 1,100 years ago. 2002 is the second such year in over a millennium.

In numerology, even numbers are viewed as feminine, odd numbers masculine, while "0" portrays the divine -- infinite counsciousness and boundless potential. 2002, then, holds a double dose of divinity (00) nestled up between two matching female numbers, 2 representing duality, polarity, choice, balance and gestation.

In a year with such visually pronounced divine, creative potential at its core (remember, the double 0s occur for only ten years every thousand years), we may be reminded -- either consciously or unconsciously -- that we are living in incredible times indeed.

So, what can we expect from ourselves in 2002? How deeply can we tap into the double digits of inner divinity, and how creative might we be in expressing the wonders and glories of the outer feminine?

My friend, Acrisa Laughing-Wolf, puts it this way, "What can we empower in ourselves and in the world with our visions? Again, God -- the infinite -- is at the center. It's as if the feminine is marching with God. We know it is time for the feminine, the woman and the feminine part of each of us, to become honored and respected equal to the masculine. It is time to return to balance. The feminine has been released in Afghanistan to now have a more visible and active role in creating their country anew."

Acrisa reminded me that the number four (which is the summation number of 2002 -- 2+0+0+2=4) is the number of building, of basic foundations. She pointed out that 2002 can thus be a year of "building the foundation for a world that honors the feminine, all women, our own feminine nature, Mother Nature, the Earth Mother, feminine ways, right brain, intuition, receptivity, feeling, caring for family, nurturing each other, creating a world with healthy relationship to each other at its core, and so much more. In such a world, there is harmony, trust, respect and appreciation. Such an approach can only help to build a foundation for abundance."

As we move into the first whispers of Spring -- a traditional time of awakening and blooming -- we enter more consciously the domain of the feminine as well. As light and warmth increase with each passing day, may we become more aware of the inner glowing of our own divinity. And, as we recall the strength of those double 2s -- female guardians of balance, choice, and gestation -- may we be reminded of the capable power of the feminine in helping us create, fashion, and build our individually unique and globally shared foundations for abundance in this world.
