Many highly regarded spiritual teachers
have taught that humans can grow spiritually and, in doing so, leave
behind the 3rd dimension reality of duality and separation (often
referred to as ‘ascension’). These individuals will then enter a
higher dimension to experience more oneness than separation from
each other. It is thought this dimension will allow us to easier
experience love, joy, strength and courage than it is here, where we
experience these things, but also their opposite counterparts. This
higher dimension would be a step closer to Heaven. What a blessed
relief that’d be, eh?!
In early 2010, I began to question these teachings. It didn’t make
sense to me that humans who were able to advance spiritually would
be able to leave this dimension after we’ve lived so many lives over
so many thousands of years, creating the very economic,
environmental, and political messes we are faced with today.
Wouldn’t we be held a bit more accountable in cleaning this
situation up?
I began to wonder: what if we all stayed right here, continuing to
grow and learn, helping others to grow, and helping to solve the
problems that humanity has created, at the same time the Earth rises
in vibration? What if we find ourselves in higher frequencies of
vibration, but still needing to feed, clothe, shelter and govern
ourselves? Would we govern ourselves any better than we have during
the last few decades? After all, wouldn’t we need to incorporate all
our spiritual aspects into our physical bodies, our relationships
and our everyday lives, and especially in the way we govern
ourselves (or, let ourselves be governed)?
I feel that if people of high integrity, courage and honesty do not
become educated and network about Governmental policies and actions,
then we stand the high probability of being governed by people of
low integrity, low courage and dishonesty. We are seeing these very
results now in our elected officials in Congress who are not paying
taxes, or are writing bad checks on their Congressional checking
accounts, or are paying employees under the table and escaping the
payroll tax liabilities, etc.
There is huge potential for disaster when we ignore what our
government is doing (for a few examples, look at the floundering
economies of Greece, Italy, Ireland, Portugal; and look at many of
our own states and cities that are bankrupt or close to bankrupt
economies). Economic conditions have already put many Americans in
dire straits due to loss of employment and loss of pensions, or to
the U.S. dollar de-valuing — and the high levels of taxation haven’t
even started to hit us yet.
How can people hold onto the spiritual growth they’ve gained when we
have such dire circumstances happening now? When so many people are
struggling for survival from debt, from floods, from earthquakes and
worse?
I feel we are moving into higher planes of existence in which we
become more aware of how we are co-creators with God. This is
wonderful, but it also seems to me that we must direct our
spirituality more into day-to-day responsibility and leadership.
Some months ago I learned about The FairTax Act. With this Act, we
could make huge steps as a nation in (1) bringing back businesses
and corporations that have left the U.S. for foreign shores that
offered them tax relief; (2) creating a better climate for Americans
to start up small businesses or expand their present businesses; (3)
abolishing the IRS taxation system, including taxes on all
individuals, estate or inheritance taxes, corporate and business
income taxes, savings and retirement gains, as well as taxes on
Social Security and Medicaid payments, self-employment taxes, and
gift taxes.
All these taxes (and the IRS system) would be replaced with a
single-rate personal consumption tax on new goods and on services.
This tax is a replacement for our current level of taxation — not an
addition to our current federal taxes. It is not a tax increase, nor
is it a tax cut. It is simply a replacement tax.
What could be more important to an individual or family than the
freedom and happiness that comes with having basic needs met —
gainful employment — and a tax system that does not enslave any of
its citizens? How much easier would it be to grow spiritually when
you and your neighbors’ basic needs are met?
